Hi, I’m Sal Sortino, but you might know me as Section8Sal from Instagram. My journey in real estate is all about building wealth through affordable housing opportunities, and today, I own over 170 rental units, including nearly 100 single-family homes and a mix of multi-family investments. I’m passionate about showing investors the power of real estate and how to grow through smart, strategic decisions.

I built my real estate portfolio without raising money, relying on inheritance, or even having partners—except for one deal (shoutout to Mario!). My story started with humble beginnings, hustling in college while learning about real estate from my family. My mom was a part-time real estate agent, and my grandfather, who came from Sicily and built the American Dream, inspired me to pursue this path.

My first investment was a duplex bought through seller financing, which opened my eyes to the power of passive income and Section 8 housing. Since then, I’ve flipped properties, started a real estate wholesale business, and grown my rental portfolio. Today, I see myself as a "deal engineer," always looking for ways to maximize cash flow through wholesale deals, flips, and long-term rentals.
